Local residents were startled on Tuesday night to see smoke rising from a fire in the Larchmont area, around 6:15 in the evening.

zevfirephotoThe fire was originally reported to LAFD at 6:19 p.m., at 301 N Beachwood Dr.…but the address was later corrected to 327 N. Plymouth Blvd.  According to the Fire Department, the fire started on a utility pole, and extended to a detached garage behind a single family dwelling.  A representative of the LAFD told the Buzz on Wednesday afternoon that the fire was near a transformer and “appeared to involve electrical equipment.”  LADWP also responded to the incident.

There were also initial reports of at least one person injured in the fire, but LAFD could not confirm that report on Wednesday.  The fire was extinguished in just 16 minutes after LAFD arrived.

[Note: this story has been updated to correct LAFD’s original reports that seemed to indicate two separate fire calls in the area.]
