Windsor Square teenager Colin Kruse, who was studying in Nice, France this summer, was caught up in the panic and terror of the deadly incident when a truck plowed into crowds enjoying Bastille Day.

Thankfully, Colin was not harmed in the July incident, but since his return home, his mom Jackie said he’s been understandably reluctant to talk extensively about his experience.  But this week, Colin, now a Junior at Loyola High School, shared his reactions to the incident in an open letter published in his school newspaper, the Loyalist.

The Buzz thanks Colin and his parents for sharing the link below with us and for his thoughtful counsel that, “We must strive for respect, tolerance and acceptance with everyone in this country.”
