Our area is full of Hollywood movie history – so many films and TV shows have been filmed in the homes and on the streets of our neighborhood that one could just create a website dedicated to memorializing that history.

Lucky for us there are a lot of movie buffs out there who blog about a variety of movies locations – new and old. And every once in awhile they hit on a Larchmont Village/Hancock Park gem.

Movie – Off Limits (1953)

Currently , the movie blog Dear Old Hollywood showcases the film Off Limits (1953) – a Bob Hope/Mickey Rooney comedy with a chase scene set on Larchmont Boulevard. The site is full of detailed information and pictures from the original film and comparison shots from today. Be sure to click on the pictures to enlarge the view.

Silent Locations – a website

Blogger John Bengston celebrates Silent Movie locations through his blog Silent Locations. If you have time to explore, this site will probably turn up many films that were filmed in and around our area. Recently he posted about The Artist (2011). We’ve posted about this film a lot – but Bengston’s take is unique in the way he uses Google maps…kind of a fun new view!
