Neighborhood Home Portrays Anytown USA in Olympic Chevy Commercial

Hancock Park, Larchmont Village, Windsor Square, Brookside, Fremont Place and the surrounding neighborhoods are favorite backdrops for location directors…full of homes that can fit the bill when a director wants a house or a yard that might be located anywhere in the U.S.  On any given night you might see two or three neighborhood homes in the background of TV shows or commercials…and not even notice!

Chevy has a great commercial running in the Olympics – a spot that celebrates their 100 year anniversary and focuses on some beautiful scenes including The Grand Canyon, Muir Woods and Half Dome. Ray Charles sings “America the Beautiful” in the background.  And the last beautiful scene…a classic craftsman home on Norton Avenue with a family from the ’50s who transforms into a family of today.

Chevy ran this as a :30 spot in the Opening Ceremony (estimated to cost around $350,000  for each :30). The :60 spot below is even better because you get to hear more Ray Charles!
