  1. This is the dumbest idea since Jerry Brown’s Diamond Lane fiasco in the late ’70s. Wilshire Boulevard is the best street to drive during rush hour. Taking one lane in each direction away will not only make it gridlock, it will negatively affect 6th, 3rd, Beverly, Olympic, Pico, Venice, and Washington. This is government trying to force people into public transit when many don’t want to use it. That’s not the function of government. This should have been put to a vote of the people before it was implemented, but the politicians knew it would be voted down by a huge margin, so they are forcing it down our throats.

    • The only way to stop this is clear revolt. I currently and will continue to ignore the stupid, socialistic initiatives this city tries to force down our throats – plastic bags, bike lanes, bus lanes, and the rest. I will drive on the streets I pay for, use whatever bags I want, and park when, where, and how I please. They will not take my car in exchange for a bike, bus, train, or subway.
