TARFEST: Free Music Festival at La Brea Tar Pits this Saturday

In its 12th year running – TARFEST 2014 – happens this Saturday in Hancock Park, serving up a line up of live music, art and food, all under the sun in Hancock Park.  Adjacent to the Page Museum and Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the day is billed as “Excavating Future Culture on the Miracle Mile.”

Bring a blanket and settle in for the day – acts begin at 1 pm and run through 8 pm. Free, for the whole family.

There will be an Art Pavilion featuring an exhibition and silent auction of original and limited edition artworks by Notable Los Angeles Artists. Live painting and sculpture by Greg Craola Simkins, Nicola Verlato, and Devngosha.

Kids activities provided by the Japan Foundation of Los Angeles, Orchard Supply Hardware, and the Petersen Automotive Museum. Food trucks on site, with drinks provided by Lagunitas Biergarten and Little Bar Wine Bar.
