Miracle Mile Fun Run

This Saturday, December 6th, is an active day in Mid-Wilshire with a Miracle Mile Fun Run, and a 6th Street Walking Tour set to bring residents together for some interaction and exercise.

Early in the day Councilman Tom LaBonge will be hosting the 2nd Miracle Mile Fun Run. This one-mile run will take place along Wilshire Boulevard.  Check-in will start at 6:30 am with the race will start at 7:30 am. The starting point is Wilshire and Orange Drive.

Wilshire Boulevard will be closed to cars between Highland Avenue and Fairfax Avenue from 6 am until 9 am. North/South traffic will be open on both Fairfax Avenue and Highland Avenue. Organizers expect to have Wilshire Boulevard reopened before 9:00am.

Runners can take advantage of this opportunity to run down the middle of Wilshire Boulevard, one of the most famous streets in Los Angeles!

The Mid City West Community Council is hosting a 6th Street Walking Tour this Saturday, Dec. 6th at 10am, walking east on 6th and and discussing what it’s like to walk the street currently, and how other potential configurations of the street would change the experience.

The tour will begin at Four Cafe at Fairfax Avenue and Maryland Drive and end at La Brea Bakery at 6th and La Brea.
Mid City West comprises areas to the west of La Brea Ave and extends to approximately San Vicente, with a sliver of a segment beyond San Vicente along the Third Street corridor. All residents in the larger Hancock Park and Wilshire areas, however, are welcome to join in the walk.
The mile-long walk will be set at a leisurely pace.  After the tour, walkers are encouraged to take the DASH back to the starting location, retrace the route on foot, or stay and enjoy a coffee or meal along La Brea Ave.
