Tour LaBonge 2013 – Fourth Stage Spins Along 4th Street on Wednesday

LaBonge-bike

Councilmember Tom LaBonge visits our neighborhood the week on his summer bicycle tour – The Tour LaBonge. Riders will meet at 6pm  Wednesday at  Shatto Park on 4th Street, just east of Vermont. The group will head west on 4th Street – following a trail that will be blazed by our intrepid Councilman.

There are three stages left on Tour LaBonge – two within close distance:

  •  June 26th | Fourth Street – Meet at Shatto Park at 3191 Fourth Street
  • July 10th | Toluca Lake – Meet at Councilmember LaBonge’s Valley Field Office at 10116 Riverside Drive
  • July 17th | Hollywood – Meet at Councilmember LaBonge’s Hollywood Field Office at 6501 Fountain Avenue

4th Street is a bike route – lined with sharrows from Hoover Street on the east, through Koreatown, Windsor Square, Hancock Park and Hancock-La Brea – across La Brea to South Cochran (3.6 miles). There are lots of great off-shoots Councilman LaBonge can take…let’s see what we discover on this ride!

The tour starts at 6 pm, and police will provide traffic control. All riders must be at least 12 years of age, wear helmets, and sign waivers. Please leave all pets at home.

Note:  Little side plug here for a new bike shop that opened on Wilshire at Wilton Place within the last 2 weeks. It’s called LA Golden Bicycle (4001 Wilshire Boulevard) and they were the official bike repair partner to CicLAvia this past weekend, adjacent to the Koreatown Hub. They were super nice to me and helped to fix the internal hub (gears) on my bike during the big CicLAvia event. Very nice, very competent – and very fast! Give them a visit if you need a quick repair or are in the market for a new bike.
