Bike with Councilman LaBonge Tomorrow

Last week “Team LaBonge” –  some 30 free-wheeling riders from all over Council District 4 – gathered on Vermont just south of the Greek Theater to take an evening bike ride with Councilman LaBonge. The bikers rode through a portion of Griffith Park and on to the Los Angeles River bike path. At Silverlake Reservoir the DWP unlocked the gates and the riders were given access to ride across the dam – something you don’t get to do every day! The group then rode back through the Park (much of it uphill but van rides were provided for those too tired) and were treated to ice cream back at the starting point.

This week the ride will be through Sherman Oaks on Thursday as Tour LaBonge continues with its fifth stage. Anyone interested in riding can meet at Fire Station 88 in Sherman Oaks on Thursday at 6pm. The ride will last approximately two hours, and only helmeted riders may participate.

Jump on a bike and join in – the summer rides are almost over!
