January brings transition on the Boulevard…
Comings…
diptyque – the Parisian fragrance favorite has opened on Larchmont Boulevard. Known for their perfumes and candles, the shop should become a well frequented gift stop in no time. Add to that the fact that neighbor Isabel Mayfield is managing the store…locals will find it a warm and welcoming spot to check in for a sensory adventure.

Noni Boutique – the folks behind fashion boutique Noni called it quits in early January. According to sources, they sold their business to their neighbors on the north, the Vernettis, the new owners of Girasole. That allowed the Vernettis to re-negotiate the lease with the building owner – all with the intention of expanding the restaurant to fill both spaces.
Of course, Larchmont’s Q Condition – a classification where a property or properties have “restrictions on property as a result of a zone change, to ensure compatibility with surrounding property” (LA City Department of Planning) – limits any restaurant on Larchmont between Beverly Boulevard and 1st Street from expanding its square footage. So this project is halted while the matter goes through the process of appeal to get a variance on the code. First step…an appearance before the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council’s Land Use Committee on Tuesday, January 28th to lay out their expansion plans.
Supercuts – long time Larchmont clip shop Supercuts will be closing at the end of the month. After 15 years, the lease has come to an end and the staff will re-deploy to other local Supercuts locations. According to their sign, Ana, Sandra, Celina, Josephine and Kristen will move to the Gower and Sunset location; and Maria will move to the Beverly Boulevard and Crescent Heights location.
