Larchmont Larder Closes Shop

The Larchmont Larder, our lovely neighborhood go-to for gourmet salads, incredible picnic baskets, and Wednesday night to-go meals quietly closed shop just prior to the Labor Day weekend, much to the dismay of many local residents. Not only did the Larder inspire us with its lovingly-prepared fine food, but we enjoyed the neighborhood-centric feel of the place and it’s charming interior and  front porch. Even better was that our local restauranteurs Katie Trevino and Michael Beglinger, who opened the space in 2008,  always seemed to know and welcome their customers on a first-name basis. Trevino moved on to other ventures last year, while Beglinger held on to the Larder, cutting back its hours and all the while keeping up with an active catering business.

The Buzz spoke with Wylie Pickett, owner of the property at 626 N. Larchmont Blvd on Wednesday. Pickett said he was in discussion with an interested party and is confident that someone will take over the comfortable space with its open, professional kitchen. While the location is zoned for food, because of a shortage of parking in the area there are limitations on what kind of business may end up leasing the space.

We just hope it will have all the local charm and flavor that was the Larchmont Larder.
