Burglars caught on camera use patio furniture to try to reach a second floor window, as reported by CBSLA 2 News.

Update to this article on 3/15/16: A representative from the La Brea Hancock neighborhood shared the following information: “Thankfully, the suspects were apprehended thanks in large part to the cameras ability to take and record a picture, and to social media.  Once the photo was posted on the LAPDWILSHIRE’s Social Media site someone identified them as students at a local high school.  The police went to the school, made positive identifications and arrested them.”

Two young men attempted to break into a home on the 600 block of South Mansfield in broad daylight and were caught on security cameras, while the resident inside spoke with 911 and followed their progress until a security alarm scared them off. Police are now looking for the two suspects who show up clearly on the video footage, putting on gloves and using patio furniture to gain access to the second floor.

CBS LA News covered the story (below) which took place on March 1st at approximately 10:30 am. The residence appears to be adjacent to the pocket park behind the Avalon Wilshire which local La Brea Hancock area residents have complained is a problem for lack of security.
