Four Burglary Suspects Arrested Yesterday in Wilshire Area

The LAPD arrested four burglary suspects on Tuesday, Dec 16th, believed to be linked to a number of burglaries in the Windsor Square and Larchmont Village areas recently. Residents may have heard the helicopters and squad car activity at mid-day yesterday as the pursuit and arrests unfolded through the Windsor Square and Wilshire areas.

Senior Lead LAPD Officer Joseph Pelayo told the Larchmont Buzz that a victim was surprised by a burglar in her house on the 400 block of South Irving mid-day Tuesday. He fled, taking the victim’s vehicle and leaving his own, which was then put under surveillance by the LAPD. When a suspect returned for the vehicle he was followed and eventually taken into custody. Altogether four suspects in two cars were involved in the pursuit. LAPD officers arrested all four around 2 pm – taking down one car in the vicinity of Plymouth and 8th Street and the other car near Olympic and Highland.

“People should be certain to lock their doors at all times,” Senior Lead Officer Joseph Pelayo told the Larchmont Buzz. “Set your alarms and if you’re leaving your home take extra precautions by engaging alarm systems, alerting your neighbors, and locking up tight.”

Pelayo could not provide further information on Tuesday’s arrests pending investigation by the LAPD. He is hopeful, however, that the arrests may curb a string of burglaries that have plagued the area.
