LAPD Looking For Witnesses in CicLAvia Hit-and-Run at Wilshire and Windsor

streetsblog-la-twitter-1.large_If you were at CicLAvia on Sunday, you will find it hard to believe that a car would have tried to make it onto the route. The car-free Wilshire Boulevard was so quiet with only the hum of bike wheels whizzing by, happy chatter and the beat of the random boom box strapped to the back of a sturdy bike.

The website LA.Streetblog.org is reporting that a cyclist was hit by a car heading north from Windsor, trying to cross a cordoned off  Wilshire Boulevard. The car was a late model Toyota. Authorities are looking for eyewitnesses who might be able to provide more information. If you saw anything, please call LAPD West Traffic Division at 213-473-0222.

The cyclist has 3 fractured vertebrae and a heavily damaged bike. Read more below:
