Avoid Melrose Ave. between Cahuenga and Las Palmas on Saturday and Sunday, March 22-23, as the street will be closed for resurfacing between 6 am – 6 pm.
According to the Bureau of Street Services, they will be ‘profiling’ the street on Saturday – taking off the top 2 inches of surface, beginning at 6 am. Â They may reopen the street for (bumpy) Â navigation as early as 3 pm, but could be as late as 6 pm. The road will be open Saturday night. On Sunday the new surface will be poured and will open to traffic by 6 pm, with yellow markers defining lane lines. The Department of Transportation will do striping at a later date.
