The skies over the Beverly Grove area were filled with multiple, long flashes of light Sunday evening just before 11:30p. Reports of sightings of the bright lights filled Twitter within minutes of their initial occurrence…from the beach, to the valley, to Silver Lake, Hollywood and the Beverly Grove area.
According to LAFD spokesperson Brian Humphries, there are a handful of electrical transformer and arcing wires issues. The LADWP is aware. If you have questions or concerns, please call them at 1-800-DIAL-DWP. The power outages appear to be localized in the neighborhood around The Grove… from La Brea to Fairfax; and from Beverly Boulevard to Melrose Avenue.
If you encounter downed wires, assume them to be energized & deadly. Do not touch. Call 9-1-1.
