Earlier this morning, two LAPD undercover burglary detectives were ambushed in front of the LAPD Wilshire Division Headquarters on Venice, just east of La Brea. The detectives sustained minor injuries.

Police set up a 25-block perimeter from Pico Boulevard to Washington Boulevard and from Redondo Boulevard to Rimpau Boulevard to search for the ambush suspect, who was described as a black man between 30 and 35 years old dressed in all black and wearing a baseball cap.

Streets are expected to be closed, impacting traffic until at least 12p today.
