Traffic Alerts: Los Feliz Construction and Hollywood Half Marathon

There are two events that will impact traffic to the north of us. A little planning and a will to discover new routes will make for more efficient drive times.

Construction Starts Tuesday on Los Feliz Boulevard; Will Last Through The Summer

LADWP will start construction on Los Feliz Boulevard. The project involves an upgrade to the underground power infrastructure adding capacity to the circuits.

Phase 1 construction starts Tuesday, April 2nd and is expected to continue through early May. Work will take place M-F 10am-6pm, and possibly on Saturdays. Just one westbound lane of traffic will be open on Los Feliz Boulevard starting at Hillhurst Avenue during this time. All eastbound lanes will be open.

As a result of this work, traffic on this already busy Boulevard will be even slower heading from Glendale into Los Feliz starting next week.

Phase 2 construction will take place in May and June. At that time, LADWP will dig up five of the seven lanes on Los Feliz Boulevard west of Vermont. There will only be one lane of traffic in both directions during this phase.
