Traffic Calming Coming to 6th and Irving

speedtrailer

Traffic calming measures are coming to Windsor Square. A speed trailer will soon arrive at the intersection of 6th Street and Irving Blvd.  The trailer should help reduce the speeds of cars through the intersection, hopefully, reducing the number of accidents, explained Senior Lead Office Joe Pelayo, who had been asking for mitigation measures at the intersection in light of continuing accidents, including two recently reported in the Buzz.

The subject came up at again at the Windsor Square Block Captains meeting Wednesday evening at the Wilshire Country Club.  Sarah Dussault, chief of staff for City Council Member David Ryu, said her office would be looking into additional traffic accident mitigation measures as well.

The speed trailer’s radar measures the driver’s speed then flashes the rate on the sign making speeding drivers aware they are exceeding the legal speed limit. Let’s hope it works!

Drive Safe.
