Legendary producer, writer  and director Norman Lear will be signing books at Chevalier’s Books this Thursday, Feb 26th, at 3 pm.
Norman Lear’s memoir “Even This I Get to Experience” was released in October 2014 and explores his time as a Depression-era kid, his bomber experience in World War II, writing sketches for the likes of Danny Thomas and Jerry Lewis, and eventually producing and writing some of the most iconic, humorous and biting television sitcoms. Some of his many credits include “All in the Family”, “Maude”, “Good Times” and “The Jeffersons.” As the NY Times said in a fall story on Lear, he produced the “button-pushing, boundary-breaking comedies that defined the 1979s and influenced future generations.”
Lear raised his real-life family in Encino, while creating his television families in studio lots around Los Angeles. At 92 years old, it should be a fine opportunity to meet one of the great writing legends in person.
