The world-famous Original Farmers Market at Third and Fairfax will host its 11th annual Taste of Farmers Market on Tuesday, July 23, from 5-9 p.m. In celebration of a major milestone – 85 years as LA’s favorite gathering place – the tasting extravaganza will be filled with mouthwatering bites from the Market’s beloved restaurants, grocers and eateries, along with live entertainment and community goodwill.

Event highlights include…

  • Over 50 delicious tastes from your favorite Market merchants — including plenty of vegetarian options
  •  “Firehouse Chili” made by firehouse chefs from our local fire stations 61 and 58
  • Live entertainment
  • Community craft table
  • Fire truck photo ops & firefighter meet and greets

For the fourth year in a row, the event will support the First-In Fire Foundation and local firehouse stations 61 & 58, and will feature delicious meat-lovers and vegetarian chili prepared by firehouse chefs. Guests can also visit the First-in Fire booth on the Plaza for arts and crafts and emergency preparedness information. Firefighter meet and greets and photo opportunities with a classic red fire truck will take place on the Plaza as well.

Firehouse chefs from local firehouse stations 61 & 58 will be serving up their famous chili – meat-lovers and vegetarian.

Adult tickets include more than 50 samples, two non-alcoholic drink tickets, free parking and beer and wine samples (for those 21and over) from Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company and Cobblestone Wine. The event’s official water sponsor, Icelandic Glacial™ – “the purest tasting water on Earth,” will provide bottled water for all guests.

Kids tickets, for those 10 and under, will provide 10 tastes and 1 drink ticket, and include a copy of the Farmers Market coloring book. A 10% discount is also available for adult group ticket purchases of 10 or more.

The event will feature a pop-up pavilion in the Market Plaza offering a sneak peek and taste of some of the Market’s new and upcoming artisan grocers. Tastes include locally grown produce from Rick’s Produce, olive oil and vinegar inspired cheeses, gelato and fruits and vegetables from California olive oil grower Temecula Olive Oil and sampling of gourmet pickles with a New York taste and a West Coast vibe from Kaylin & Hobbs pickles.
