Another Missing Person: Please Help Find Ana Barajas

Detail of one of the fliers being distributed for missing teen Ana Cristina Barajas.

Last week, the Buzz was thrilled to hear about the safe return of missing Brooksider Matthew Brown, but this week we are sad to learn that another local young person is still missing.

According to her mother, Ana Renteria, Ana Cristina Barajas, age 14, was last seen on January 12 at Nicolas Junior High School in Fullerton, near the group home where she has recently been living.  Since then, Renteria told the Buzz, a number of people have reported sighting Barajas in North Hollywood, Santa Monica and Venice…as well as in the Mid-City/West Adams area where her mother lives. But her mother has not heard from her or been able to find her.

The most recent sighting, according to Renteria, was at a Mid-City liquor store on Saturday night…but Renteria says that so far, each time she has received a call or possible tip about her daughter, the girl who was seen is gone by the time she can follow up.

If you see Barajas, please contact her mother, Ana Renteria, at [email protected] or at (323) 513-3276.
