The Barking Lot Celebrates Grand Re-Opening Under New Management

On Saturday, September 12, longtime Larchmont pet supply store The Barking Lot celebrated its grand re-opening, with new manager Susy Lemus.  The refreshed focus of the store, which is still owned by the Larchmont Animal Clinic, is great customer service and healthy, holistic foods and treats. According to Lemus, everything they sell is made in the U.S. or Canada, and grain-free foods are available. Lemus has worked in the pet industry for nine years, and comes from Centinela Feed and Pet supplies, where she had extensive training in the making of pet foods.

aubreyAubrey Wood was also at the re-opening event with her Nova Goods line of hand-made doggie bandanas. Wood, whose motto is “Live to Dye,” hand-dyes the natural fabrics with all natural indigo dyes.  Most of her work is for humans, but she realized she could use scraps from those larger projects to make doggie wear, and a new product line was born. She lives in the neighborhood and works from a studio in her house near Melrose and Plymouth.

Among the customers attending on Saturday were local resident Puck and his rescued human, Laura Flanagan…
