There are lots of ways to dive in and be more civically active in the greater Wilshire-area neighborhood this week. Consider attending one of the five following meetings:

Tuesday, LAPD Wilshire Division is hosting a community meeting at Park La Brea, at 6:30 pm, 6200 W. 3rd Street, Los Angeles. It’s a great opportunity to meet Wilshire Detectives and Patrol Officers and share your concerns and ideas with your senior lead officer. For more information contact Wilshire Community Relations Office at 213-473-0200.

Also on  Tuesday evening at 7 pm, the Larchmont Village Neighborhood Association is holding its semi-annual meeting at Van Ness Elementary School.  Guests and topics will include:

  • LAPD Senior Lead Officers on crime prevention
  • Council District 4 – Meet new Field Representatives
  • Traffic and parking issues
  • Neighborhood preservation efforts

Finally, also on Tuesday, the Mid City West Community Council is holding its monthly meeting, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at the National Council of Jewish Women, 543 N. Fairfax Ave., Rm 106. Click here for more information on the meeting.

Wednesday, the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council is holding its monthly meeting at  the Ebell of Los Angeles at 7pm. Click here for the agenda. All are welcome to attend.

Thursday, the Brookside HOA will be meeting at the Memorial Branch Library from 6pm 7:30 pm to discuss proposed new single family zones for the neighborhool…among other issues. Below is the meeting agenda:

1. Community Private Security Survey
2. LAPD Burglary Detective, Officer Bernie Romero
3. ADT Patrol Manager, Mike Ball
4. Neighborhood Watch

  1. Please also consider coming “civically” anytime to the bi-weekly “Country Club Park, Oxford Square, Wilshire Park, Windsor Village Historic Preservation Overlay Zone (HPOZ) Advisory Board” meetings. This is an officially appointed board of the City of Los Angeles, meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM, and meets at the ground floor conference room off of the parking lot at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1209 S. Manhattan Pl., LA, CA 90019. All the great projects that characterize our historic residential neighborhoods are reviewed here.
