Biden Motorcade Streets to Avoid

Vice President Joe Biden is in town Wednesday and Thursday.  His exact route has not been disclosed, but these are the streets motorists are being advised to avoid – many of them in our Greater Wilshire and adjoining areas (closest areas in bold):

Wednesday

1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Pershing Drive between Imperial Highway and Manchester Avenue
  • Imperial Highway between Vista Del Mar Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard
  • Santa Monica Boulevard between Sawtelle Boulevard and Rodeo Drive
  • Wilshire Boulevard between Carmelita Avenue and Beverly Drive

3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

  • Rodeo Drive between Wilshire Boulevard and Virginia Place
  • Olympic Boulevard between Camden Drive and Albany Street
  • 11th Street between Union Avenue and Georgia Street

6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Olympic Boulevard between Georgia and Saint Andrews Place
  • Western Avenue between 11th and Fifth streets
  • Sixth Street between Oxford Avenue and Lorraine Boulevard

7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

  • Sixth Street between Bronson Avenue and Lorraine Boulevard (fully closed)
  • Irving Boulevard between Fifth Street and Wilshire Boulevard (fully closed) 

8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m

  • Crenshaw Boulevard between Wilshire Boulevard and Country Club Drive
  • Olympic Boulevard between Bronson Avenue and Camden Drive

Thursday

Biden is due to spend the night in the Los Angeles area. Some streets will be impacted on Thursday morning, when he will fly from LAX to Detroit. Motorists should avoid:

6 a.m. to 8 a.m.

  •  Santa Monica Boulevard between Rodeo Drive and Sawtelle Avenue
  •  Imperial Highway between Sepulveda Boulevard and Vista Del Mar Avenue
  •  Pershing Drive between Imperial Highway and Manchester Avenue

Wednesday and Thursday

11 a.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Thursday

  • Rodeo Drive between Wilshire and Charleville boulevards (full closure)
  • El Camino Drive between Wilshire and Charleville boulevards (full closure)
