Big Sunday Needs Books!

bigsundaybooksheader2

This coming Sunday, September 18th, the Big Sunday organization, which matches volunteers and donations with people and organizations who need them, will be holding its 4th Annual Books ‘N Brunch event at its Melrose Ave. headquarters.  From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., volunteers will enjoy a bagel and pastry buffet while counting, sorting, and packing thousands of books for local public schools, HeadStart programs, alumni groups, kids in foster care and group homes, seniors, and veterans’ groups.

Before the event, the Big Sunday folks hope to collect 10,000 books…and they’re still a bit short of their goal.  So if you have books you’d like to donate, please bring them to the Big Sunday offices – 6111 Melrose – from Monday-Friday this week, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

And if you’d like to participate in Sunday’s event, just sign up at the link above.  You can also bring books to the event, or bring non-perishable and unexpired food to assist with Big Sunday’s End of the Month Club program on September 23rd. The collection will benefit People Assisting The Homeless.

For additional information about either the book or food collections, contact [email protected].
