Buzz Co-Publisher Patty Lombard will be signing her pictorial history of Larchmont today, from 11:00 am to noon, at Chevalier’s books as part of the street’s festive Small Business Saturday shopping day. Chevalier’s is presenting an all day open house with Indies First, a program originally created by writer Sherman Alexie as a way for authors to give back to their local bookstores. This year, Lena Dunham is the official spokesperson.
Joining Lombard will be authors Julie Buxbaum, Charlotte Huang, Fonda St. Paul and Stuart Gibbs, at various times throughout the day. Pilgrim School librarians Kris Williams and Carole Koneff will also be on hand in the afternoon to offer recommendations to inspire young readers.  A detailed schedule is available on the Chevalier’s website.
Chevalier’s, featured prominently in Lombard’s book, is one of the oldest independent bookstores in the west, and has been operating on Larchmont for 76 years, since it was founded inn 1940 by Joseph Chevalier. Local support has sustained the bookstore all these years, so consider stopping by today to show your support and do some holiday shopping.
