Buzzworthy Happenings: Taste of Farmers Market and GWNC Tuesday; Councilmember Ryu at the Rotary Wednesday

Buzzworthy happenings this week: 11th Annual Taste of Farmers Market, the GWNC Land Use Committee are both on Tuesday; CD4 Councilmember David Ryu will speak at the Wilshire Rotary lunch on Wednesday.

Tuesday evening is a busy night for us at the Buzz. We plan to buzz by the 11th annual Taste of Farmers Market starting at 5-9 p.m at Original Farmers Market at Third and Fairfax who is celebration of a major milestone – 85 years as LA’s favorite gathering place. It’s a great way to quite literally “taste” all the offerings at the from the Market’s beloved restaurants and some new ones that have recently opened. There will also be live entertainment. Proceeds go the the the First-In Fire Foundation and local firehouse stations 61 & 58, who will be serving up meat-lovers and vegetarian chili prepared by firehouse chefs.

Adult tickets include more than 50 samples, two non-alcoholic drink tickets, free parking and beer and wine samples (for those 21and over) from Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company and Cobblestone Wine. The event’s official water sponsor, Icelandic Glacial™ – “the purest tasting water on Earth,” will provide bottled water for all guests.

Kids tickets, for those 10 and under, will provide 10 tastes and 1 drink ticket, and include a copy of the Farmers Market coloring book. A 10% discount is also available for adult group ticket purchases of 10 or more.

After that, we are heading over the GWNC Land Use Committee meeting at Marlborough School. The Committee meetings are open to the public. Come and learn about new and ongoing development projects in your neighborhood.  6:30 p.m. Marlborough School 250 S Rossmore Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90004

Wednesday, Councilmember David Ryu will be speaking to the Wilshire Rotary at their weekly meeting on at 12 noon a St. Brendan Catholic Church Parrish Center at 310 S. Van Ness Ave. Ryu will give rotarians and their guests, and over view of what’s happening in CD4 as well as some positive developments in the new City budget, and the Councilmember’s comprehensive approach to solving homelessness.

“We are very excited for Councilmember Ryu to join us at our weekly luncheon,” said Ron Reyes, Wilshire Rotary President. “Everyone is welcome to learn more about what’s happening in CD4 and learn more about how the Rotary is helping the community.”
