On Saturday at around 3:15 p.m., there was a three car accident at the corner of Rossmore and Sixth Street that resulted in cordoning off Rossmore from Sixth to Fifth Streets for at least an hour. For those who are wondering what happened, Buzz reader Jack Humphreville, who was at the scene, told us that Car 1, a silver sedan, was traveling north on Rossmore, sped through a red light and clipped Car 2, a dark grey sedan that was headed west of Sixth Street, as the driver entered the intersection.  Car 1 then clipped Car 3, a Lyft vehicle with a driver and two passengers.
Car 1 proceed up the street, jumped the sidewalk on the west side of the street, and ended up lodged between a tree and the hedge of the house on the northwest corner.
The driver and two (?) passengers of Car 1 (no license plate) fled the scene. Â However, one of the three may have received attention from an ambulance that was tending to the person on Fifth Street, west of Rossmore.
The accident attracted a number of police vehicles and an ambulance.
It’s not an “accident” when someone ran a red light and caused it. That’s a “collision” or a “crash.” Thanks!
