City Trash Collection Delayed One Day for Thanksgiving Holiday

Just a quick heads-up that because of the Thanksgiving holiday this week, city trash collection will be delayed on Thursday and Friday. If your collection day is Thursday, your collection will be Friday this week. If your regular collection day is Friday, your collection will be Saturday this week. There is no change to Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday collections. All collection schedules will return to normal next week.

Also, please note that city SAFE Centers will be closed Thursday and Friday, but open again Saturday. LA Sanitation business offices will also be closed Thursday and Friday, but its Customer Care Center is always open, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year at 1-800-773-2489. If you’re unsure of your regular collection day, see http://neighborhoodinfo.lacity.org and type in your address.

Finally, LA Sanitation also reminds everyone to refrain from pouring fats, oils, and grease down the drain when cooking. Even with hot water, the grease can still clog pipes in your home or in lateral sewer pipes, potentially causing very expensive damage. Fats, oils, and grease should always be poured into a sealed jar and placed in the trash bin.
