Many local gardeners know that the City of Los Angeles offers free mulch to Los Angeles residents at 11 different pickup locations around the city.  (Mulch is ground-up plant material, made from the green waste picked up by the city, which is used to cover garden and landscaping soil to retain moisture, suppress weeds and improve appearance.)  But for those who don’t have an easy way to pick up their own mulch in bulk, there’s now a second option: free home delivery.
