Every year, the City of Los Angeles makes grants for community improvement or benefit projects available to local 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations and public schools through its Neighborhood Purposes Grant program, administered by local neighborhood councils.  The number and amount of the grants is determined by the individual neighborhood councils, but this year, both the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council and the Mid-City West Community Council, in our area, have decided to offer two $1,000 grants to organizations that serve stakeholders within their boundaries.
The Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council is currently accepting applications until through 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 2,  for its two grants.  The GWNC’s grant committee will select up to two finalists to nominate, with final approval to be determined at the June 14, 2017, GWNC Board Meeting.  The official award announcement will be made at the July 12, 2017 GWNC Board Meeting.
