GWNC Partners with DWP on “180 Days to Turn It Around” Campaign

The Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council’s Sustainability Committee is partnering with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power in a “180 Days to Turn It Around” campaign  to help residents of the Greater Wilshire area conserve water. Many zip codes within the Greater Wilshire area are among the top 1% of water users for the City of Los Angeles.

 “180 Days to Turn It Around” sets up a challenge for homeowners.  After they opt in and sign up, LADWP will perform an audit of the participating residences’ water usage.  At the January 13, 2016 GWNC Board meeting, participating residents will receive a welcome packet from the LADWP with an analysis of their water usage. LADWP will also provide recommendations on how to reduce water usage. Participating residents will then have 180 days from the program’s official launch on January 13, 2016 reduce their water usage by 20%.
