It’s Time for LAPD’s Annual Shoes from Santa Drive

As they do every year at this time, LAPD’s Olympic Division officers are now hosting their 7th Annual Shoes from Santa event.  For the next few weeks, the station will be collecting donations of new shoes for school aged children (ages 1-18)…or cash donations with which to buy shoes.

The goal is to collect 1,500 pairs of new shoes by December 1, and then the station will host, on December 8, “a winter wonderland with ground snow for the children to play in, snow falling from the sky, a Santa’s workshop, cookies and hot cocoa for the children, and of course, Santa.” (And shoes, lots and lots of shoes, which will be given out at the party to pre-selected neighborhood kids.)

But it all depends on generous donations from community members – either shoes or cash (you can donate at this PayPal link).  And, of course, all donations are tax deductible (tax ID #26-3898882).

For more information, or if you’d like to help with the event in any way, contact Senior Lead Officer Eric Mollinedo, at [email protected].
