At 12:05 yesterday afternoon, the LAFD received notice of a fire at a single-family home at 584 N. Lucerne Blvd.  Ten LAFD vehicles were dispatched to fight the blaze, which was apparently started by a ceiling fan and contained to just one room of the house.  It was extinguished in 14 minutes, though smoke could be seen rising, and smelled throughout the neighborhood, for a short time after that.  According to LAFD, one adult at the residence was treated for an unrelated medical issue and transported to an area hospital, where they were listed in good condition. There were no other injuries and damage to the house was still being assessed.
