On Thursday, March 17, Metro held its bi-monthly meeting to update the local community on the latest developments in the Purple Line construction project.

Topics covered included demolition and sound wall construction at Western Ave., an update on piling installation for the new La Brea station (now underway on the north side of Wilshire, soon to move to the south side), details of the decking installation coming up along Wilshire Blvd. between Highland and Detroit St. (beginning in June, and scheduled for a total of 22 weekends), a look ahead to sound wall construction, tree and median removal and piling for the Fairfax station, advance utility relocation and building demolition for the La Cienega station, updates on Metro’s Eat Shop Play and Art Programs, and proposed plans for easing traffic and a potential ballot measure.

For those who missed the meeting, Metro’s presentation materials from the meeting are now posted online, along with an update on the Art Program and opportunities for the Purple Line station.

Metro’s next Purple Line Community Construction Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 19.
