Metro Construction Alert: Traffic Signals Shut Down at Wilshire-La Brea

metroconstructionheader

From Monday, April 11th (today) through Wednesday, April 13th, Purple Line Subway Extension construction will require Metro to reroute an underground conduit to prepare for pile installations on the south side of Wilshire Blvd., near La Brea.  As part of the project, traffic signals at the Wilshire/La Brea intersection will be turned off from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Traffic officers will be on site to direct traffic, and no lanes will be closed…but it’s probably a good day (or good stretch of three days) to avoid the intersection if you can.

Note that pedestrian and emergency vehicle access will not be affected. Construction may result in changes to bus routes or stop locations, but Metro will post signs at affected stops to advise of alternative boarding locations. Work activity is subject to weather conditions.

Real-time information is available at metro.net/service/advisories or 323.GOMETRO.
