Murder in Memorial Park

Crime-2

Early Wednesday morning a fatal shooting occurred at Los Angeles High Memorial Park. According to news reports, LAPD officers from the Wilshire Division responded to reports of gunshots and found a man in the park who later died at the hospital.  When these rare violent crimes have occurred in the neighborhood in the past, it turns out the victim was someone who did not live here.

Details on the incident are still limited because it’s an ongoing investigation. However, SLO Hebel Rodriguez confirmed the news report adding the age of the victim in an email to the Buzz on Thursday.

“On December 28, 2016 at approximately 3:25 AM officers received a radio call of a shooting in the area of Olympic Blvd and Muirfield Rd.  Officers responded and found a male in his 40s unconscious suffering from a gun shot wound.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.  Detectives are asking for anyone who has a surveillance camera facing the park or anyone that could have witnessed the incident to contact them at (213)382-9470,” wrote Rodriquez.
