National Night Out Events – Tonight!

It’s been a tough week for our country as a whole, and especially for our sense of safety and community.  But tonight, all across the U.S., there’s a great chance to reconnect with our neighbors and our sense of togetherness, as hundreds of National Night Out events bring people together to celebrate the “annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.”

This year there will be many NNO events in and around the LA area, featuring block parties, free movies, and more…including two hosted by our local LAPD divisions.

First, LAPD’s Wilshire Division will sponsor the event at Poinsettia Park, 7341 Willoughby Ave. (at Fuller Ave.), from 6-9 p.m.  There will be food, music, safety exhibits, activities for kids, pet adoptions, free trees and other giveaways, classic LAPD cars on display, and more.

And this year, Olympic Division will celebrate with an event at the Olympic Station, 1130 S. Vermont, also from 6-9 p.m.  Again, there will be food and drinks, games, contests, crime prevention information, safety tips and more.

But those aren’t the only celebrations nearby.  Here are a few more we’ve seen posted for the West Adams area,  Culver City and Union Station.  And there are at least nine events planned in West Hollywood. So wherever you are, or whever you’d like to go, stop by one of the gatherings…and enjoy your Night Out!
