On Larchmont: Bridal Trunk Show at Landis Stationery and “Shelf-Help” at Chevaliers Books

A sure sign of spring — a Bridal Trunk Show at Landis Gifts and Stationery, on Monday at 138 N. Larchmont Blvd.

Bridal Trunk Show

Besides the Superbloom, bridal shows are another sure sign of spring.

This Monday, Landis Stationery will host a Bridal Trunk Show, featuring Smitten on Paper invitations and local bridal dress designer Cocoe Voci. We’ve been told there will be bubbly drinks, treats from SusieCakes, flowers by Windsor Square resident and floral designer Rita Azar (of Rita Flora fame), and a treasure trove of prizes for customers planning their special day.

“I thought it would be terrific to invite some local, small, women-owned businesses to join me in debuting this new line of wonderful wedding invitations,” Landis Stationery owner Edie Frére told the Buzz. “I’m delighted to have Cocoe’s dress in our window promoting the show all week long, and Rita brought over some stunning flowers.

I hope everyone will stop in. It should be great fun,” said Frére. “There will be prizes from Mixture, Sugarfina, and C Buxton.  And we’re adding Bling Wipes and a candle from Graybill & Downs.”

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the prizes.

Browsing the shelves at Chevalier’s Books, now you can get some “Shelf-Help”

“Shelf-Help” at Chevalier’s Books

Are you looking for a good book to read? What if you could get a book delivered to you, or  – better yet – have one waiting at your local bookstore, picked out just for you? Well that’s the idea behind Chevalier’s new book subscription program, aptly called “Shelf-Help.”

Simply fill out a short questionnaire about what you like or hate, and Chevalier’s staff will be on the look out for books that match your interests.  Then they’ll contact you when the books are in the store. It’s a great way to support your local book store.

Staff at Chevalier’s told the Buzz they started the program to help customers sort through the hundreds of fabulous books that arrive weekly on their shelves. And, the books are 15% off, too.

“Shelf-Help” comes just in time to get for summer reading. You can also give a “Shelf-Help” subscription to someone you know who loves to read.
