Help support LAPD’s Operation Shoes from Santa by donating shoes for a school-aged child

It’s time for Operation Shoes from Santa, LAPD’s annual effort to donate new shoes to needy children.  Our local effort is organized again this year by Senior Lead Officer Eric Mollinedo, SLO Olympic Division.

“On Thursday December 15th at 6 pm, with the help from our friends at the studios, we will transform Olympic Division into a winter wonderland with snow falling from the sky, ground snow for the children to play with, a Santa’s workshop, hot chocolate and cookies, a holiday movie played on an inflatable screen and of course SANTA!” wrote Office Mollinedo in a message to the Buzz this week.

“We are fortunate to have some corporate sponsors help us out with this great event,” said Mollinedo. But he added, they still need shoes.  LAPD would like everyone who can to donate a pair of new shoes for school aged children. The shoes can be brought to Olympic Station or you can contact your Senior Lead Officer to have them picked up.

If you can shop for shoes, you can still support the event by making a donation online. All contributions are appreciated!

For more information, you can contact Officer Mollinedo at (213) 793-0785 or by email at  [email protected].
