The Democratic National Convention kicks off tonight, and next Monday, the Republicans will gather — so we thought it was timely to write about Metro Paws, a local business that once sold its wares at the Larchmont Farmers Market and makes handy bio-degradable poop bags featuring your favorite presidential candidate. The 2020 version of Metro Paw’s best selling Smear Campaign® poop bag collection features Repooplican bags sporting Donald Trump’s face, while the Democrap bags feature Joe Biden’s.
The bags were originally created back in 2012, with the intention of engaging voters and encouraging others to get out and vote, according to Cierra Voelkl, Social Media and Marketing Coordinator for Metro Paws. She said the bags are widely popular with dog owners, but if you don’t have a dog, they also make great gifts. Apparently, the Trump bags are the better seller at the moment, though it’s hard to tell exactly what that means. Regardless, people are using these clever “smear campaign” poop bags to pick up after their pups, and that’s a good, neighborly deed we can all support!

I love that people pick up their dog poop, but I just wish we didn’t have to use these methods that my mother would have said is so demeaning to our politics, actually she would have said “so low class.”
