Local LAPD Olympic Division Senior Lead Officer Joe Ciritto will be one of hundreds of fire fighters and police officers running tomorrow, Sunday, February 12, from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m., in the annual “Run to Remember – Los Angeles” to honor fallen law enforcement officers and first responders. Ciritto gained notoriety last year running in full uniform, and he was recently featured in a story about the event by the Beverly Press.
Approximately 5,000 runners are expected to participate in the half-marathon and 10K run. The race will begin at The Grove at 7 a.m. and then take runners through historic Hollywood, including a detour into the Paramount studio lot, before concluding inside Pan Pacific Park at 11 a.m. Paramount will be the turnaround point for the 10K, with runners entering the lot through the Melrose Gate (Melrose and Windsor), and existing through the Bronson Gate (Melrose and Bronson).Â
Run to Remember – Los Angeles will raise funds for participating organizations including Operation Progress Los Angeles, Sheriff’s Youth Foundation, LAFD Foundation, Los Angeles County Fire Department Foundation, and United States Military Educators Association, in addition to teams raising funds for other causes.
