SoCalGas Advisory Asks Residents to Conserve Gas Today

SoCalGas asks consumers to conserve and reduce gas usage today

Not surprisingly, the chilly, wet weather has us using more energy.  You can help by lowering your thermostat to 68 degrees, washing laundry on cold and avoid using major gas appliances, such as your heater or gas fireplace today, if possible. If you’re out all day, consider turning off your heater. Maybe even use your microwave instead of your oven tonight. Or you can use your wood burning fireplace. There’s no burn restriction for today.

SoCalGas is asking residents to reduce gas consumption this winter because of reduced local supply of natural gas due to the closure of the Aliso Canyon Storage Facility. The utility has  implemented an advisory system to encourage residents to voluntarily conserve and reduce consumption on specific days like today.
