We love stories with happy endings and here’s a good one. Last week the Zuckermans, a Hancock Park family on the 500 block of Las Palmas, were burglarized. The thieves stole laptops, watches, jewelry and their beloved rescue dog, Henry, a 15-year-old, 6-pound Yorkie. The Zuckermans put out the word far and wide that Henry was missing, sharing a photo of the adorable dog’s charming face on social media. They even appeared on the local CBS news affiliate, asking for information about their dog and offering a reward for his return.
This week the family shared the good news with their neighbors – Henry is back home. It seems the family’s laptop computers led LAPD detectives to the thieves and all their stolen property, including Henry.
From the Zuckermans:
“The LAPD did an amazing job. I am seeing detective Larkin again this morning (with a huge box of pastries) and find out where we can donate money to a police fund in her and detective Lopez name.
The 2 individuals (man and woman) found in a stolen car are arrested and in jail. Please tell the neighborhood to be sure every computer has specific tracking software. I will find the name of the software when I go back to work today. 4 computers stolen and mine that pinged led them to the villains.
We also want the neighborhood to know how grateful we are for all their support, help and concern. We will go to court and prosecute. The man looked pretty scary and mean. I think we are very lucky we didn’t wake up!
Thank you everyone for your overwhelming kindness.
An alarm system to be installed by Don Moore Co. and SSA Private Security has been engaged!
Thankfully this story had a happy ending. Take care and be safe!
