Street Closure Alert – Westbound Wilshire Closed at Highland this Weekend

Metro has notified neighbors that westbound Wilshire Blvd. will be closed this weekend between Highland Ave. and Orange Dr., for instrumentation work related to Purple Line subway construction.

The closure will start on Friday, April 6, at 9 p.m., and continue through Monday, April 9 at 6 a.m.

Local access to Wilshire will be maintained from eastbound Wilshire Blvd. and from local streets such as Citrus Ave., Mansfield Ave., and Orange Dr.

Right turns from southbound Highland Ave. on to westbound Wilshire Blvd. will not be allowed.

Detours will direct westbound traffic north onto Highland, then west on 6th Street and south on La Brea, where drivers can once again access westbound Wilshire.

With the exception of the 5055 Wilshire Blvd. driveway on Wilshire Blvd., which will be temporarily closed, access to other driveways, residences and businesses will be maintained at all times, unless further notice is provided. Access for pedestrians will also be maintained outside of actual construction zones.

For more information, see the full closure notice at https://www.metro.net/projects/notices/notice_purpleline1_040218/, or contact Metro at (213) 922- 6934.
