Tacos Tu Madre is opening today at 203 N Larchmont, the former Pinches Tacos space.
We noticed the transformation taking place over the weekend and stopped in on Sunday, where we chatted with owner, Josh Pourgol, who also owns Bardonna down the street. This week is a soft opening but he promised a more celebratory opening is coming soon.
This is the third location for Pourgol and his partner, Oliver Mateen. They opened their first Tacos Tu Madre in Westwood with a tiny take-out window in 2015. Los Feliz followed and soon there will be another location downtown.
Pourgol knows Larchmont and the limitations imposed by the street’s “Q” Conditions. He’s created a fun, instagram-friendly, take-out only space with a long bar that runs the length of the space. The back wall features a bright “Make Tacos – Not War” neon sign on a wall planted with succulents.
It’ll be nice to have tacos back on Larchmont.
