While The Original Farmers Market at Third and Fairfax has always been the perfect grocery shopping destination, the new Merchant of the Month program is sure to become the talk of the neighborhood. All through 2019, a different vendor will offer a special promotion each month, including deals on everything from pastries and produce to meats and marinades, for shoppers who make use of the Market’s bountiful offerings. With the Market celebrating 85 years of business this summer, this new program is the perfect way to get in on the celebration.

This month’s spotlight is on Marconda’s Puritan Poultry, a family-owned poultry market and a Los Angeles staple. Here you’ll find the DeRosa family working behind the counter, ready to take your order and offer their expertise.

Owned by Lou DeRosa – who also runs Marconda’s Meats – Marconda’s Puritan Poultry offers whole birds or perfectly prepared cuts of chicken, turkey and exotic fowl. The poultry is as fresh as it can be, and you can have your order prepared exactly as you wish by the experts behind the counter. Ask them for cooking tips and suggestions, too. When you want to eat well and quickly, Marconda’s also has great ready-to-cook items for an easy weeknight meal, including the marinated chicken in this month’s deal!

All month long, shoppers who purchase two pounds of marinated chicken get the third pound of equal or lesser value for free! Choose from delicious marinades including Asian, Honey Chipotle, Mediterranean and Bulgogi. Marconda’s Puritan Poultry is also available on Mercato.com, which means you can get fresh poultry delivered right to your doorstep. This offer expires on August 31st but stay tuned for a new Merchant of the Month in September!
