Neighbors and business leaders on La Brea have planned a vigil for Brianna Kupfer this Thursday in front of Croft House furniture store at 326 N. La Brea between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., the approximate time that Kupfer was fatally stabbed while at work last Thursday.
“The idea has come up spontaneously since we are horrified by the murder of Brianna Kupfer,” resident and organizer Yael Kopple told the Buzz. “We have put a flyer together asking people to join outside the store at the time of the murder. The purpose is to show solidarity together with bringing awareness of how we can be more involved to restore safety in the community.”
Yael Kopple shared the vigil information with LAPD, the Hancock Park Homeowners Association and local news outlets. Magen Am, a non-profit organization providing security to the Jewish community will be on hand with safety information. Everyone is welcome to attend.
This afternoon, LAPD Wilshire Division released a community alert reward for the suspect in this case with the following advisory:
“The person pictured [in the alert] Â is wanted in connection with a murder which occurred in the 300 block of North La Brea Avenue on January 14, 2022. He should be considered armed and dangerous. If seen, do not approach. Call 911. A $250,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for this murder. If you have information, please call West Bureau Homicide at 213-382-9470. After hours or on weekends, call 877-527-3247. #lapd #lapdwilshire.
