Tree Down in Larchmont Village

Strong winds on Thursday afternoon brought down this mature parkway tree at the corner of Rosewood and Windsor Avenues in Larchmont Village

Thursday’s strong winds brought down a large mature Stone Pine tree in the side street parkway of a home in Larchmont Village ,on Windsor Avenue at the corner of Rosewood. It seems the tree’s roots had completely decayed, leaving the tree no ability to anchor to the soil, according to arborist Nick Mook, who looked at photos provided by the Buzz.

The tree crashed into a brand new fence that had just been installed this week, as shown in the video below provided by Buzz reader Eileen Lanza, but there were no other reports of damage.

And when we checked the site today, a worked was already there cutting up the tree.

The root system of the tree had completely decayed leaving the tree unable to anchor to the soil.
As of Friday morning, the tree was already being cut up to be hauled away.
